Historic Announcement at Le Mans
During the 24 Hours of Le Mans weekend, SRO Motorsports Group and Peter Auto revealed an exciting new championship.
The series will carry the name “GT3 Revival Series”. It celebrates the early years of modern GT3 racing.

Focus on First Generation GT3 Cars
The championship is dedicated to first generation FIA GT3 homologated cars from 2006 to 2013.
The project aims to honor the twentieth anniversary of the GT3 category in 2026. Over two decades, GT3 machinery became one of motorsport’s most successful concepts.
Manufacturers, teams, and fans embraced the category worldwide. Today, GT3 cars compete in many leading endurance championships across multiple continents.
The category also transformed touring car racing. The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters now features GT3 cars as its main platform.
Stéphane Ratel’s Vision Continues
The GT3 concept was originally created by Stéphane Ratel. His vision reshaped global GT racing.
Modern GT3 racing combines professional drivers, amateur competitors, and manufacturer involvement. This balance helped the category achieve long term success.

The new revival series now gives historic GT3 cars a dedicated platform once again.
Peter Auto Brings Historic Racing Experience
Peter Auto joins the project as a major partner. The organization remains one of the leading names in historic motorsport events.
The company is famous for prestigious meetings such as the Spa Classic, Le Mans Classic, and the Tour Auto.
Its experience in organizing historic competitions makes it an ideal collaborator for the GT3 Revival Series.
A New Chapter for Historic GT Racing
The announcement already generated strong interest among teams and collectors. Many iconic GT3 models could return to competition.
Fans may soon see legendary machines racing again in dedicated historic events. The new championship promises to celebrate the rich heritage of GT3 racing in spectacular fashion.
